Welcome to the European Network of Open Educational Resources!

We hope you can join us on the upcoming Network Event on Technology in Open Education on 10 November at 15:30 CET.

This event is relevant to stakeholders from education and business sectors that want to better understand the potential of technology-supported solutions (AI) for OER repositories in creating an improved OER infrastructure. Attendees would get to know what role AI-based solutions play and experts’ perspective on the topic. Also, they will be asked to contribute to proposals for quality and sustainability solutions matching their needs.

This ENCORE + event will present:

  • Business stakeholders’ perspective on technological-based solutions for OER repositories (AIDP Association + Viblio Company)
  • Results of the Experts Focus Group conducted on OER repositories in terms of quality, sustainability, and AI-based solutions 
  • Possible Technological Integration Scenarios for OER repositories
  • Open discussion on emerging issues relating to AI adoption in Open Education

The event is organized in collaboration with the associate partner AIDP (Associazione Italiana per la Direzione del Personale)

Speakers:

  • Matteo Uggeri:

Matteo graduated in Industrial Design, specializing in visual and multimedia communication at Politecnico di Milano in July 1999. He is working in Fondazione Politecnico di Milano, where he is employed in the Digital Learning and Collaboration Area. His specialization is related to gamification, management and communication, with a particular interest in the field of audio and video in the Web 2.0 tools. At time of writing, he’s involved in several project on topics such as Open Education (ENCORE+), Micro Credentials (MicroHE), STEM in Early Childhood Education (K4K), active learning and soft skills (eLene4Life), serous games for Information Literacy skills (Navigate), development of OER for Civil Servants (Protezione Civile of Lombardy Region).He is an active member of the Open Education Italy national working group.   • Sahan Bulathwela:

Sahan is affiliated to the UCL Centre for Artificial Intelligence currently contributing to the ENCORE + Project and with contributions to X5GON and HumaneAI projects working with Emine Yilmaz and John Shawe-Taylor. His research interests lie on the theme: “Improving Recommendations of Educational Contents to Lifelong Learners”. Before joining UCL, he worked in several research roles in the industry in cybersecurity and personalized advertising domains where he gained experience in user state modeling in a big data landscape.   • Dayana Mejias:

Dayana is a professional Affiliate at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa Institute of Management and Department EMbeDS.Principal Expert in Negotiation and Conflict Management at The European House Ambrosetti. She is a lecturer at MIB Trieste at Executive MBA in Innovation (EMBAIN) and at SISSA, Master in Complex Actions. Also, she is the founder and CEO ApprenDO, an innovative Startup that optimizes up-skilling and re-skilling. She helps organizations in managing (on time) transformation processes, with a particular focus on implementations of New Technologies, acceleration of levels of competition and organizational changes.
