Quality Circle – 2nd round
Welcome to the second round of the ENCORE+ Circle Events!
ENCORE+ is building the European OER Ecosystem through a coordinated European approach which can enact the value of OER as a catalyst and multiplier. The circle events will address the need for a more comprehensive collaboration bringing together particular groups, networks and initiatives in order to move from a series of individual OER initiatives into a European OER Ecosystem.
ENCORE+ focuses the community around 4 themes: “OER Technology”, “Policies & Practice”, “Quality”, “Innovation & Business Models”.
Each circle community will host a series of events. The events are open to any individual, institution or business with an interest in all or any of the 4 themes.

Quality Circle – round 2
In the second round of the ENCORE+ Circle events, focused on Quality on European Open Educational Resources, the findings and research results will be presented.
Since the first circle events there was an outstandingly innovative survey, where the status quo of OER in Europe as well as the fears and hopes of some of the most important stakeholders where collected. Furthermore, a workshop series was organized, where the quality of OER Repositories is focused. More than 20 participants, who are among the most important experts in the field of OER and represent organizations such as the ESU, UNESCO, ORCA.NRW and many more, are involved in the groundbreaking discussions and results in a total of four workshops from March to July. The goal is to use the results and key conclusions to develop an Overarching Framework for the quality approaches on OER.
The Quality Circle of the ENCORE+ project will be based on each other and their content and results will develop like a spiral, as shown in the graphic. To this purpose, a total of four workshop series will take place; we are currently in the first one. It aims to develop the European open and community-led quality review framework for OER and open education which will result in a consensus based and integrated European OER quality paradigm and assurance mechanism to increase impact of repositories to their communities. In order to do so the key quality concerns for future OER repositories, communities and users will be identified.
